About the choir

A community of voices from Žilina that for more than two decades has built bridges between the past and present of choral music.

Spevácky zbor OMNIA - spoločenstvo hlasov

The Omnia choir was founded in 2003 at the University of Žilina. From the beginning it has brought together students, alumni, and friends of the university who share a love of choral singing.

Since 2016 we have operated as a civic association (OZ); despite the change in legal form, we remain an open community with an international reputation. Each year brings new challenges, new works, and new friendships.

Our performances are meeting places — for us, for the audience, and for the music itself.

Repertoire

The choir's repertoire spans centuries: from Renaissance motets through Baroque oratorios to works by contemporary composers.

We focus on unconventional, sonically and visually interesting compositions alongside sacred works, spiritual motets, and secular repertoire. We collaborate with orchestras and regularly premiere new arrangements.

Music is our language — we speak without words. Every piece is a story we want to share.
