Competition
Two gold medals from the World Choir Games 2026 in Sweden

The OMNIA choir from Žilina returned from the World Choir Games 2026 in Helsingborg, Sweden, with an exceptional result. At the world's largest choral competition, which brought together 149 choirs from 35 countries, we competed in two categories – contemporary music and sacred music – and won gold medals for both performances.
This success is the result of the long-term work of our conductor doc. Mgr. et Mgr. art. Monika Bažíková, ArtD., from the Department of Art and Culture at the Faculty of Education, Comenius University in Bratislava, and the dedication of every choir member. The result means even more to us because we are not professional singers – we make music alongside our jobs, studies and family commitments.
Thank you to everyone who supported us on our journey to Sweden – our families, friends, audiences and the donors who contributed to our fundraiser. The gold from Helsingborg belongs to you too.
The project was co-financed by the City of Žilina. We sincerely thank the City of Žilina for its financial support, which allowed us to represent Žilina and Slovakia on the world stage.
